On-Farm Conservation Planning
The O`ahu RC&D works with farmers and ranchers to promote land stewardship while assisting farmers in the adoption of conservation practices that protect soil, water, air, plant and animal resources. Conservation planners help producers recognize resource concerns on their property, choose the best management practices that will address those concerns, and implement those practices. In some cases, financial assistance is available to help individuals meet their conservation needs. Conservation plans are created through a voluntary and confidential process, and are approved by a board of directors from one of Oahu's Soil and Water Conservation Districts.
